About Anaesthesia
Most people think of their anesthesiologist only as the “doctor behind the mask” who helps them sleep through surgery and who wakes them up when surgery is over. The anesthesiologist in fact plays a vital role in the patient’s life. The responsibility of safely maintaining the patient’s vital signs right through the medical/surgical procedure, in addition to management of pain during and after procedures, lies solely with the Anesthesiologist.
Our Anesthesiology Unit comprising of a team of highly experienced and proficient anesthesiologists and duly updated Medical and Paramedical personnel is in-fact the cornerstone of our hospital’s success as a major trauma and surgical center. The keen medical acumen and wide range of medical expertise exhibited by this team has contributed tremendously to our growing recognition as the apex center for Minimally Invasive Surgery and other Surgical Procedures.
Procedures:
In addition to administering anesthesia medications before the surgery, the anesthesiologist also will:
- Monitor major bodily functions (such as breathing, heart rate and rhythm, body temperature, blood pressure, and blood oxygen levels) during surgery
- Address any problems that might arise during surgery
- Manage pain after surgery
- Keep the patient as comfortable as possible before, during, and after surgery
