The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has been functioning in Sunrise Hospital since its inception. It has been giving excellent care in Obstetrics and Gynaecology care to woman in many surrounding districts. It is indeed a household name for opting for delivery, prenatal and postnatal care. This department has developed a very good name in the field for routine obstetric care, high risk obstetric care and obstetric critical care. This department cares and supports women at each stage of life from puberty to menopause and after. Special emphasis is laid on Preconception Care, High Risk Pregnancy and Infertility Treatment. We provide general gynaecology services including routine examinations, cystectomy, vaginal hysterectomy, laparoscopic surgeries.

High-risk pregnancy is a situation where there could be complications that can affect the mother, the baby, or both. These complications may arise due to preexisting health conditions, lifestyle factors, or problems that develop during pregnancy.

Preconception Care: This includes medical advice and screenings before pregnancy to address health issues that could affect pregnancy. Antenatal Care: Regular check-ups are essential to monitor the health of the mother and the developing fetus. These include: Ultrasound scans to monitor fetal development. Blood tests to detect conditions such as gestational diabetes or preeclampsia. Monitoring for infection that can affect pregnancy. Nutritional advice ensuring the mother gets adequate nutrition to support the pregnancy. Educating and providing Information about labor, delivery, and postnatal care. Surgical Procedures in our Gynaecology department are: Cystectomy - Surgical removal of cysts from the ovaries. Vaginal Hysterectomy: Removal of the uterus through the vagina, often used to treat conditions like uterine fibroids, endometriosis, or cancer.

Pap Smear: A screening procedure for cervical cancer, where cells from the cervix are gently scraped away and examined for abnormal growth. Gynaecological Checkups: to monitor reproductive health, including pelvic exams and breast exams. Colposcopy: A procedure to closely examine the cervix, vagina, and vulva for signs of disease. Cryotherapy: A treatment that uses extreme cold to freeze and destroy abnormal tissue, often used for cervical dysplasia.
